A farmhouse that welcomed guests. A health resort that built a reputation. A hotel that reinvented itself — and stayed true to what it was.

The location in Bad Faulenbach isn't a marketing promise. It's the real reason guests come back.

Over 60 years of family history — from farmhouse to health hotel.

Before the war

Long before the house had a name, the Schweiger family opens their farmhouse to holiday guests. Simple, quiet, in the valley.

1963–1964

The farmhouse becomes a Kneipp health resort. Back then Kneipp isn't a trend but a method: water, movement, herbs, rest — lived, not a concept.

1972

The house is getting too small. Across the road, where the orchard stood, an annexe with 25 beds takes shape. More space, the same attitude.

1983

Josef and Veronika hand over to the next generation. Son Martin continues with the main house — not the end of an era, but the start of the next.

1987–1988

The east wing is demolished and rebuilt — with its own restaurant, spa facilities and sanatorium approval.

1997

A modern extension fundamentally changes the building: new rooms, gym, sauna, steam bath and underground car park. The shape the house still has today.

2007

From cure hotel to health hotel: restaurant, fireside bar, sun terrace. A new face — and the same core.

2009

The “Slim While Sleeping” method by Dr. Pape arrives. Not because it's fashionable — but because it works.

2012

Certification to systemQM REHA BAR standards — so the house can stay what it is: a place where health is taken seriously.

2024

The house comes back to itself

The Schweiger family takes the house fully back into their own hands. Not a restart — a return. New identity, clear eyes forward.

The house has been in family ownership for generations. When you call, you speak to someone who grew up here. Who knows which room sleeps more quietly in a west wind. Who tells you which path is worth it even in the rain.

Every decision comes from someone who actually lives here. You feel it — in the way the table is set, in the fact that Carola knows how you take your coffee, and that Martin can recommend the best route for exactly this day.

A family business isn't a marketing term. Here it's an attitude.

Our Golf Days at Neuschwanstein

4 nights

Four days, three rounds, twelve courses: Golfclub Neuschwanstein has no course of its own – instead twelve partner clubs between the Allgäu and the Altmühl valley, where members play at a reduced green fee. €25 a year opens all twelve to you – with a DGV card and handicap from your home club. We reserve the tee time and pack your lunch. The green fee is paid at the course.

Start with the classic: around Lake Forggensee – approx. 30 km with only gentle climbs through stunning scenery overlooking Ludwig's royal castles and the dream backdrop of the mountains.
